Die Festival Zeit in Nepal hat wieder begonnen. Das diesjährige Lichterfest Tihar (Diwali) findet vom 17.10.2017 bis zum 21.10.2017 statt. Es ist das zweitgrößte Fesival nach Dashain. Die ganze Familie kommt zusammen und feiert. Die Stadt wird lebendig und bunt. Lichter leuchten überall und buntes Farbpulver wird gekauft, um Mandalas auf die Straßen zu malen. Butterlampen werden selber hergestellt und die Häuser dekoriert. Tanzgruppen ziehen durch die Gassen, einstudierte Tänze werden vorgeführt und anschließend wird gemeinsam getanzt.

 

Tihar festival on October 17, 2017 – The first day of the Tihar festival is dedicated to crow – messenger of Yama, the god of death in Hindu Religion. This day is known as Kag Parva. (crow=Krähe)

Tihar festival on October 18, 2017 – The second day of the Tihar festival is dedicated to Dog and is known as Kukur Tihar. (Dog=Hund)

Tihar festival on October 19, 2017 – The third day of the festival is the popular Diwali day and on the day cow is worshipped. Special Lakshmi puja is also held on the day. (cow=Kuh)

Tihar festival on October 20, 2017 – The fourth day is known as Bahar Puja. Newar community observes the New Year on the day. Govardhan Puja is also observed on the day. (Neujahr)

Tihar festival on October 21, 2017 – The fifth day of the festival is dedicated to the relationship of brother and sister. This festival is known as Bhai Tika. (Bruder und Schwestern Tag)
